Orienteering Sport Federation (India) and Orienteering M (Mauritius) Sign Bilateral MoU to Strengthen Orienteering Cooperation
The Orienteering Sport Federation (India) and Orienteering M (Mauritius) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marking a new chapter of collaboration between the two nations in the field of Orienteering sport development and exchange.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Gaurav Singh, President of the Orienteering Sport Federation (India), and Mr. John Domah, President of Orienteering M (Mauritius).
This MoU serves as an instrument of friendship, goodwill, and mutual cooperation, aimed at promoting Orienteering as a global sport fostering fitness, learning, and cultural understanding.
Under this agreement, both countries will:
Organize an annual Indo–Mauritius Orienteering Bilateral Series, with the first edition scheduled in April 2026 in Mauritius and the return leg to be held in India in December 2026.
Facilitate athlete and official exchange programs, including training camps, workshops, and technical collaborations.
Provide special participation privileges to members of each federation for events held in the partner nation.
Collaborate on the development of Orienteering maps, courses, and educational materials to standardize practices and raise competitiveness in both countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gaurav Singh, President of Orienteering Sport Federation (India), said:
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to grow Orienteering beyond borders. It will offer athletes from both nations an opportunity to experience new terrains, cultures, and standards of excellence in the sport.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Mr. John Domah, President of Orienteering M (Mauritius), expressed:
“Mauritius is proud to join hands with India in advancing Orienteering across the Indian Ocean region. This cooperation will inspire young athletes and strengthen the global Orienteering family.”
The signing of the MoU highlights India’s expanding engagement with international Orienteering federations following its collaboration with the Park World Tour (Sweden) and the International Orienteering Federation (IOF).
It also reinforces the Federation’s commitment to positioning India as a hub of Orienteering activity and innovation in Asia.
The Indo–Mauritius Bilateral Series will serve as a platform for athletes of all age groups — from juniors to masters — to compete, learn, and celebrate the spirit of exploration that defines Orienteering worldwide
